What is Dabkeh?

Dabkeh is a captivating group dance that involves a moving half-circle of individuals holding hands, set to rhythmic folk Levantine music. It is known for its energetic and joyous movements, which bring people together in celebration.

What is Drumming?

Drumming is one of the oldest forms of human expression, using rhythm to connect people, share stories, and uplift spirits. No experience is needed—just follow the beat and let the rhythm guide you. It’s a joyful, hands-on way to relax, energise, and feel part of a larger community. No prior knowledge of Levantine rhythms is required, and the drums are on us—though you’re welcome to bring your own if you have one!

What to Expect:

  • Beginner-Friendly: No prior knowledge or experience in Dabkeh or Drumming is required.
  • Fun and Relaxed Atmosphere: Learn the basic steps of Dabkeh and Levantine rhythms in a spontaneous and joyful setting.
  • Cultural Experience: Enjoy traditional Levantine Arabic Dabkeh songs and rhythms.
  • Collective Wellbeing: Get ready to move your body, drum, have fun, build connections, and release a lot of dopamine and endorphins! Together we dance and drum in community.
