Wednesday 18th November 2026 at 10.30 am-4.00 pm. Welcome coffee/tea and biscuits available from 10am.
Open to men and women. There are only 17 spaces available - BOOK NOW!
Deadline for booking is 10th November.
This retreat will be led by Jacqueline Tevlin, Spiritual Director.
Slow sewing is an invitation to pause and take a gentle approach to each stitch with a focus on the process of creating your textile art rather than aiming for a ‘finished’ product. These slow moments offer opportunities for reflection, enjoying the texture of the remnants and the colour of the embellishments. Items can be repurposed into your own unique craftwork or canvas collage – maybe with the layering of textiles, practicing new stitches or using a leisurely long stitch. There are lots of ideas online. Just add scissors and your imagination!
The Retreat will be comprised of two led Sessions of Reflection and two Sessions of "Slow Stitching" with a unique themed Stitching Kit.
Cost of the Day: £48 which includes Stitching Kit and welcome tea/coffee.
Venue: The Assembly Room at Westminster College.
Please bring your own lunch, something to drink and embroidery scissors and cushion, if needed. If you would like to book lunch in the dining room at Westminster College, please let us know in advance and we can book you in: Lunch Main Meal@ £8.00 (includes 2 sides + dessert).
Cancellations:
- In the event of retreat cancellation, the registration fee will be refunded in full.
- If a registrant needs to cancel, a refund of their registration fee less the Eventbrite fee, (approximately 10%), is available within 7 days' notice of the event.
Parking
Please note there is no parking at the Westminster College.
The nearest on-street parking is at Pound Hill, a minutes walk from us. There is a 2 hour limit on parking here. For a longer period, parking is available all day on Mount Pleasant and St Peter’s Street which are both less than 5 minutes’ walk. These locations are pay-and-display or paid via RingGo and cost 80p for 30 minutes, Monday-Saturday 9.00-17.00.
There is a larger car park on Castle Street called Castle Hill Car Park, an 8-minute walk from us.
Cambridge often becomes very congested during peak times, so we recommend using the Madingley Road Park and Ride.
