Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca

Music Haven’s 36th season kicks off Sunday, July 12 with Angolan-born singer Ricardo Lemvo and his band Makina Loca — whose name translates from Spanish as “crazy machine.” The Los Angeles Times calls Lemvo’s sound “a blend of Cuban and Central African traditions that is seamless and organic—and infectious,” and there’s no better place to feel it than under the summer sky at Music Haven. Special guest Taina Asili opens the evening. Bring a blanket or chair, grab dinner from the food court, and dance the season in — admission is always free.
