Volunteering as Connected Service

Whether you are a seasoned volunteer or a perspective volunteer, please join us for our Volunteering as Connected Service, a volunteer appreciation event, in partnership with United Way! Food & refreshments will be provided as we view "Join or Die", a documentary examining social scientist Robert Putnam's "Bowling Alone" theory of how declining community engagement created an American civic crisis. Afterwards we will discuss what community means to you, the impact of community or absence of community that you've witnessed, and ideas for how we can be better social "weavers.” UnitedWay will also be sharing exciting details on their Weaver Awards.
