The evening will include both historical music and tales from the war that birthed our nation. Celebrate the 250th with master storyteller Jonathan Kruk and historical balladeer Linda Russell and hear the origins of Yankee Doodle Dandy, hear tales of battles that shaped the war, and meet the teen who outrode Paul Revere.
Jonathan Kruk is the Hudson Valley's storyteller, known for solo shows of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. He's been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, The Today Show, and Travel Channel.
Linda Russell is the region's Historic Balladeer. She's performed at Federal Hall, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Symphony Space, and the National Archives.
Revolutionary Lives is produced by the Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Battles of Saratoga with a yearlong Folklife Gallery exhibition, a public-access online StoryMap, and these events, with generous grant funding from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership, with additional support from the New York State Council on the Art supported by the Governor's Office and the New York State Legislature.
