Restorative Yoga and Gong Bath Meditation in Nature

Restorative Yoga with Carol Young and sound bath with Alex Jackson. We will enjoy yoga for the first 45 mins led by Carol, followed by a sound bath played by Alex. Both practioners have many years experience.

A sound bath is a meditative event, using sound to invite therapeutic and restorative effects. This session will be filled with different sounds, vibrations and frequencies, perfecting the experience for the mind and body.This experience can be helpful for anyone who wants to access the benefits from meditation or a period of relaxation. A gong bath is an opportunity to explore what a meditative state is and how it feels. The goal of the experience is to invite deep rest, relaxation and to explore self-inquiry and self-discovery. A gong bath experience is both uniquely personal and collaborative.Sound can bring balance, relaxation and a sense of wholeness to the body. The harmonic vibrations created by singing bowls, gongs and other overtone emitting instruments are intended to stimulate the alpha and theta brain waves. These waves are associated with deeply meditative and peaceful states that are highly conducive to healing.Please bring a yoga mat or something similar to lie on. A blanket and cushion are also optional during meditation.To ensure a safe experience we ask all participants to bring their own mat, refreshments, blanket and anything they feel they need for the experience,. Alex is a gong master and sound therapist with over 20 years’ experience as a therapeutic musician. Alex understands the pressures of modern society and the detrimental effects on our mental and physical health. He strives to offer help in the form of group sound meditations.
