REP CLUB MEETUP: Black Banjo Reclamation Project

WHO & WHAT: Please join the Black Banjo Reclamation Project (BBRP) Los Angeles chapter for a social gathering highlighting the banjo and BBRP.

Come learn more about the history of the banjo in Black music, listen to songs in the old-time tradition by local Black banjo players, and join in to jam.

All instruments and voices welcome!

About Black Banjo Reclamation Project

BBRP is a cultural arts organization and musical ecosystem that advances Black study and participation in all facets and folk-life of the banjo, reconciles the complicated legacy, and celebrates its connected cultural traditions. We host a monthly regional meet up where Black folks gather to play the banjo, learn more about the history, and share in its ancestral magic together. Our gatherings are open to all Black folks of any skill level or just interest in the banjo, and other instruments are always welcome to join as well. We meet on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Griffith Park.

In order to provide this monthly space, which requires planning and staffing on our part, we really appreciate communication if you will no longer be able to attend. No-shows really cramp our style (of course excluding emergencies). Purchasing a ticket, at any price, means you're claiming a spot from someone else so please be mindful!
