Remembrance to Renewal: Community Reflection on 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Twenty-five years after the events of September 11, 2001, join us for an evening of remembrance, reflection, and resilience as we honor those whose lives were forever changed and explore the enduring strength of a community that came together in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
This special program will examine the profound impact of 9/11 on our Nation, the Arlington community, and those who answered the call to serve. As we commemorate this milestone anniversary, we will also reflect on the healing, unity, and hope that have emerged over the past quarter century.
The evening will feature a panel discussion with:

- HON Brian Birdwell, Asst. Secretary of War for Sustainment, LTC (Ret.) US Army
- Jim Schwartz, Deputy County Manager (Retired), Arlington County
- CAPT (Ret.) Bernetta Lane, USPHS, Professor, Bowie State University, School of Health Science, Department of Public Health Informatics Technology and School of Nursing

Following the panel, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a moderated question-and-answer session before joining fellow guests for networking and continued conversation.
Whether you experienced that day firsthand, served in its aftermath, or seek to better understand its lasting legacy, this program offers a meaningful opportunity to remember, reflect, and reaffirm our shared commitment to one another.

- 6:30 p.m. – Program and panel discussion
- Q&A – Audience questions following the discussion

We invite you to join us as we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and reflect on the resilience that continues to define our community, from remembrance to renewal.
Registration is required for this event.
Each attendee must register individually using their full legal name. For security purposes, all guests will be vetted prior to the event and will receive a name badge and event credentials upon check-in. Registrations that do not include a full name for each attendee cannot be honored.

Transportation and Parking
Parking garages are located in the Amazon buildings; 525 14th Street South, Arlington, VA 22202 and 510 14th Street South, Arlington, VA 22202. Entrances to the garages are on South Elm Street and 13th Street. Rates are $6 for 1 hour, $11 for 2 hours, and $21 daily rates
Metered street parking is available on surrounding roads including on S. Elm Street, 15th Street South, and South Eads Street. Metered parking rates are $2.20/hour with max parking timeframes ranging from 2 hours to 4 hours.
Located near the blue and yellow metro lines, Amazon’s Arlington Headquarters is easily accessible by public transportation. The Pentagon City and Crystal City metro stops are less than a 10 minute walk to the building.
