Relationship Red Flags for Teens
About this Event
We teach our young people about online safety, alcohol, drugs and staying safe when they're out but how often do we teach theeem how to recognise what a healthy relationship actually looks and feels like?
Relationship Red Flags for Teens is an interactive, trauma-informed workshop designed to give young people the knowledge, confidence and language to recognise healthy and unhealthy behaviours and patterns before they find themselves in a harmful relationship.
Parents and carers are encouraged to attend alongside their teenagers, creating an opportunity to start conversations that can continue long after the workshop has finished.
What we'll explore:
- Green Flags: What safe, respectful relationships look and feel like
- Amber Flags: the behaviours that might initially look like love, affection or protectiveness but could become unhealthy
- Red Flags: Controlling, manipulative and abusive behaviours
- Relationships in the digital world: Messaging, social media and online boundaries
- Why unhealthy relationships aren't always easy to recognise or leave
- Understanding what you deserve from the people you allow in your life
- What to do if you're worried about someone you care about
This isn't about frightening teenagers or telling them who they should or shouldn;t date, it's about helping them recognise the difference between love and control, attention and obsession, disagreement and disrespect.
A portion of every ticket sale will be donated to Women's Aid in support of their work with women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

Lauren of SOS: School of Self is a Trauma-Informed Positive Psychology Coach and Mental Wellbeing Practitioner working in partnership with The Mental Wellbeing Company to support individuals and groups.
