Join us for an inspiring, hands-on community workshop where your old tech gets a new lease on life!Local upcycling advocate Mike Kelly has given away more than 500 laptops in Olympia…and he’s just getting started! In this special event, Mike will share his journey of transforming unused computers into powerful, user-friendly Linux laptops ready to help our neighbors thrive.
What you’ll discover:
How computer upcycling works and how YOU can help
Why switching to a simple, secure operating system (Nixbook OS) is a game-changer
How your old laptops and computers can directly benefit local families, students, and those in need
Ways local businesses can get involved to make an even bigger impact
What you can do:
Bring your old laptops and computers to donate or refresh
Learn how to securely wipe devices for reuse
Request a refreshed laptop if you need one
Connect with Mike’s growing network of local partners and learn how you can spread the word
Together, we can keep tech out of landfills and put it into the hands of those who need it most. Let’s upcycle, empower, and build a stronger, more connected community — one laptop at a time!
Your Closet Clutter Could Be Someone’s Lifeline.
Please note: Supplies of upcycled laptops are very limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those in need.
