BASICS: 3D Printing (FDM)

BASICS: 3D Printing (FDM) with instruction by LMS Fabrication Specialist, Byron Gilmer

This Basics class runs 45 minutes to one hour. There will be an overview and short tour of all 3D printers in the Lacey MakerSpace with a focus on operation of the Bambu 3D printers. Successful completion of this course will qualify you to use the FDM printers independently at LMS. For more in-depth project based hands-on instruction and advanced 3D printing equipment, we offer workshops and one-on-one mentoring.

Basic classes are always free for makerspace members. Individuals are welcome to sign up for multiple Basics classes until they feel confident on the equipment.

Starting July 19th 2025 we will be instituting a $10 no-show fee for LMS members who don't show up for the classes they sign up for. These fees will be charged to the card we have on file. This fee is being instituted because we have had a pattern of members not showing up to our classes. Our classes have a limited amount of slots and we want to serve as many attendees as possible.

Closed-toed shoes are required at all times at the Lacey MakerSpace.

Please familiarize yourself with our and * before class.

*Liability Waiver must be signed in person at the front desk before participating in any activities at the Lacey MakerSpace.

LMS provides all necessary safety gear, including safety glasses and other PPE.
