Redbridge Rainbow creative meet-up: Tai Chi Chuan

Join our creative meet-ups – a chance for local LGBTQ+ people and allies to connect and take part in creative activities.

This month, we'll be joined by Andrew @taichidunks for Tai Chi Chuan translates to ‘supreme ultimate fist’ and is a martial art most associated with meditation, slow, gentle movements and deep breathing, but is also a highly effective system of self defense.

We will explore basic movements and exercises to help with circulation, balance, and focus while understanding the practical defensive applications of each technique, and you will learn a simple form or set of movements that you can practice regularly to promote good physical and mental health.

If you aren’t great on your feet, don’t worry - many of the exercises can be performed seated. Tai Chi is all about going with the flow and that’s what we’ll be doing.

The room can be accessed via lift or stairs. There are toilets, including an accessible toilet on the same floor.

Please note this meet-up is for LGBTQ+ people aged 18+.
