Cambridge Library | Cambridge, WK
You are invited to attend a talk and/or workshop exploring how recorded stories enrich genealogy and archives. Presented by the Cambridge Historical Society and Museum, Cambridge Genealogy Group, and freelance journalist and filmmaker Andrew Johnstone, we will look at the power of oral history to preserve personal and collective memory, and how interviews can bring depth and meaning to family records.
Then join a practical session introducing the basics of recording interviews. This would be good for anyone keen to preserve family, community, or local histories. No prior experience needed. All welcome.
Get involved this Family History Month, come along to the talk, sign up for the workshop, and start recording the stories that matter.
Registration is essential for the workshop via the Waipā District Libraries website. https://www.waipalibraries.org.nz/events?category=4
