Waipā District Libraries is pleased to host this free public talk on oral histories to celebrate Family History Month!August is Family History Month, a time to celebrate the people and stories that make us who we are. Whether you're just starting your family tree or are deep in the archives, it's a great reminder that every name, photo, and memory helps bring our histories to life.
Presented by the Cambridge Historical Society and Museum, Cambridge Genealogy Group, and freelance journalist and filmmaker Andrew Johnstone, we will look at the power of oral history to preserve personal and collective memory, and how interviews can bring depth and meaning to family records. All are welcome.
Get involved this Family History Month, come along to the talk and consider signing up for the practical workshop via the library website! Start recording the stories that matter.
No registration required; all are welcome!
