Join us for Roots & Resilience, an inspiring monthly gardening series in partnership with the Cooperative Extension Program at Florida A&M University (FAMU). Together, we’ll explore the transformative power of gardening while honoring the profound legacy of agricultural knowledge and stewardship within the Black community across the globe.

This family-friendly series is designed for learners of all ages to dig into the earth, discover sustainable practices, and connect with a vibrant history rooted in the resilience and ingenuity of Black farmers, gardeners, and agricultural innovators.




What to Expect:

🌍 Representation in Green Spaces: Celebrate the contributions of Black agricultural pioneers and the power of diversity in sustainable practices.
🌾 Hands-on Gardening Activities: Learn skills for nurturing plants, building green spaces, and growing your own food.
đź“– Global Histories of Agriculture: Explore how Black communities worldwide have shaped agricultural knowledge, from ancient techniques to modern innovations.
🌟 Garden Communities in West Palm Beach: Engage with local community gardens and connect with West Palm Beach’s efforts to foster sustainable, inclusive spaces.

The FAMU Cooperative Extension Program is dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through education, innovation, and sustainable practices. About our Reading + Leading Little Revolutionaries Program :

Age Range: All Ages- Activities vary in age range

Program Description:

A free monthly program that offers the community a diverse range of activities including cooking, gardening, dance, STEAM, writing, art and music, all designed to enrich their literacy learning experience. This program encourages children to explore their passions, facilitate ongoing self-discovery, while developing leadership skills and fostering a sense of community.

Rohi’s Liberation Station 501c3, a non-profit initiative by Rohi's Readery, honors historically marginalized communities through a multigenerational literacy learning approach.

Programming is FREE (paid for by Rohi's Liberation Station) unless otherwise stated on the event site. Donations are appreciated and will go back into Educational Programming and Services.
