Travel with REACH in 2027: General Information Session

Thinking about traveling to Uganda in 2027? Join REACH for Uganda on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Arlington, VA for a general information session hosted by Joyce Wanda. You’ll learn about each of next year’s trips, ask questions, and find the one that fits you.

REACH (Resources, Environment, Academics, Community, Health) works alongside schools, clinics and communities in Uganda. Its trips let travelers see that work up close and take part in it.

2027 trips:

• School Opening Trip (February 3–28): Celebrate the start of the school year with REACH’s schools. You choose your own travel dates within February, and there’s an optional safari.
• Teacher Trip (March 18–27): In partnership with Marymount University. Educators work with REACH’s schools and lead workshops on active learning strategies.
• Sangala Innovation Trip (May 17–June 1): In partnership with the University of Virginia. Participants work on innovation projects with HSHS students. Open only to UVA students and faculty.
• Adult/Family Trip (June 28–July 10): REACH’s annual trip for adults and families, led by REACH President Dick Burk and Board Director Carole Burk. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at REACH’s operations and partnerships, plus a land and water safari.
• Teen Trip (July 8–29): REACH’s annual trip for teens aged 14–19, led by teacher Ani Arzoomanian. Teens visit and volunteer in REACH schools and clinics, and there’s a land and water safari.
• Volunteer Intern Trip (June 23–September 3): A choose-your-own-adventure trip to Uganda. You set your own travel dates and trip purpose.
