About this Event
Join our final Museum Late for exhibition ‘A body of knowledge’ including: a mini-display of some of the fascinating books that didn’t quite make the cut, expert tour by curator and rare books librarian Katie Birkwood, and a chance to have fun with book inspired crafts.
Choosing 61 books out of the c.50,000 books in the Heritage Library to display for this exhibition was no easy task. Discover a selection of some of the beautiful and interesting volumes that we couldn’t quite squeeze in and hear direct from curator Katie Birkwood about how the exhibition came together. From cookery to fireworks, psychology to the occult, dive a little deeper into what makes the Heritage Library so special.
We have also been inspired by the books to develop a range of fun craft activities from book-mark making to creating volvelles and anatomical diagrams. Our craft café will be open throughout the evening for guests to create a memento to take home.
