About this Event
Join us at 11:45 am at the Sigal Museum for a powerful and memorable mid-day program marking the most defining moment in American history.
At 12 noon on July 8, museum guests will experience the premiere screening of a new video presentation featuring a reading of the Declaration of Independence. This event is in honor of the first public reading, which took place in Easton, Trenton, and Philadelphia at 12 noon on July 8, 1776. This event will bring to life the words that shaped our nation, delivered with immediacy and reflection in honor of the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding.
Immediately following the screening, guests are invited to participate in a celebratory champagne toast—raising a glass to freedom in recognition of liberty, civic legacy, and the enduring meaning of our democracy.
The experience concludes with an exclusive, private curator-led tour of the Read This: The History of Media in Northampton County exhibition, offering behind-the-scenes insight into the objects, stories, and historical narratives that continue to shape our understanding of freedom and democracy.
