Quiet Afternoon: God of the Cup and Planet, with Jorie Ryan

The line 'God of the Cup and Planet' is taken from a poem by Australian poet, David Rowbotham. During our time together, we begin a journey of the imagination.
How do we imagine ‘God’? Spiritually? Creatively? Biblically? Our lived experience? Through the poetry of Australian poets and the music of Peter Sculthorpe and Gurrumul Yunupingu, we are encouraged to look deep inside ourselves to find the God in us and perhaps the God in the other. There will be time for listening, for questioning, for answering, for silence and a time for sharing.
Please join us for an afternoon of poetry, music, silence and sharing.
Jorie Ryan is a priest and poet. She writes to try and understand the world and God, to revel in the beauty of our lived experience and at times to become angry at injustice and silliness. She lives in Mudgee with her husband, a Jack Russell and six hens.
