JOIN THE EXCITEMENT: PADU QUICK DRAW - TWO HOUR PAINTING COMPETITION
This exciting event is part of the Plein Air Down Under (PADU) Painting Festival. Register to participate (see cost and details below) or come and watch for free and enjoy this vibrant spectacle!
The Quick Draw is a fun, high-energy painting and drawing event for all ages and skill levels. Artists have two hours to complete a work, which is then judged and presented for sale to the public.
On Monday 28 September, Quick Draw artists will set up their easels en plein air around Mandurah's Boardwalk, Mandjar Square (outside the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre) and Stingray Point. A starter horn at 10am signals tools up, and painting continues until the horn sounds again at 12 noon. Artists then bring their easels and artwork to Mandjar Square (outside the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, 9 Ormsby Terrace, Mandurah) where the real action begins — sales, judging and the announcement of award winners.
This is one of the highlights of PADU's three-day festival weekend. Artists and spectators alike are immersed in the creative process — smell the wet paint and get caught up in the excitement of watching art come to life before your eyes!
