My name is Joe, and I’m a community builder and queer artist who has been living in Amsterdam for over ten years. I’m reaching out to share an exciting project I’ve been working on: the Big Queer History Tour.In collaboration with my business partner, Brandon Oelofse, and through our company, Backlash Media, we launched these tours during the Amsterdam Fringe Festival last August. They were a great success, and we’re thrilled to bring them back this March as a fundraiser for a film we’re producing.
About the Tour
The Big Queer History Tour is a lively and engaging walking tour through Amsterdam’s queer history. We visit iconic locations like Reguliers, Kerkstraat, and the Homo Monument, while exploring topics such as Pride, the Gay Games, the sodomy trials, the HIV crisis, and the vibrant Dutch queer community. It’s a mix of fun, camp, and compelling history that we’re sure you’ll enjoy!
