About this Event

Hosted by Queer Art Club

Queer Art Club presents Screen Printing with Meghan Gallant

Learn the basics of DIY screen printing and create your very own screen using an embroidery hoop in this edition of Queer Art Club!

In this workshop you'll learn how to prepare a simple design, build your screen, create a stencil, and use it to make your own print. You'll then put your new skills into practice by printing your design onto a T-shirt or tote bag. Connect with your community, build your skills, and make cool custom prints!

No previous experience is required. All materials will be supplied for participants.

What to expect:

  • Build a custom DIY reusable silkscreen
  • Learn the basics of screen printing and different methods for creating stencils
  • You'll get to prepare and design a simple image on your silkscreen
  • Apply printing techniques to your design
  • Bring your designs to life on paper, a tote, or a T-Shirt!

Each participant can take home their custom reusable silkscreens and prints!

Your workshop ticket includes everything you need to learn the basics of DIY screen printing and create your own design. Want something to take your print home on? You can choose an optional add-on:

Workshop + T-Shirt: Add a T-shirt to your registration and print your design directly onto it during the workshop.

Workshop + Tote Bag: Add a tote bag and create your own custom printed tote.

Bring Your Own: Prefer to print on something you already have? You’re welcome to bring your own paper or fabrics to print on!

Accessibility: The workshop will be on the second floor of George Chuvalo Neighbourhood Centre. The centre is fully accessible. All entrances and restrooms are wheelchair accessible, and there is an elevator available to access the second floor.
