11am -1pm Qigong Fire Practice and Heartland Meditation
All bodies are very welcome – no experience of Qigong is necessary!
Qigong harmonises the body, mind, and spirit through gentle movements, controlled breathing, and focused intention. Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and philosophy, it aims to cultivate the body's vital energy, or ‘Qi’, promoting overall well-being and balance.
Rakhee Jasani is a qigong and yoga teacher, and writer. She is dedicated to democratising wellness for everyone irrespective of age, gender, background or experience. www.rakheejasani.com
‘Qigong reminds me of my own internal energies and how I might strengthen them. Both my mind and body experience a different world at a different speed... and all this stays with me afterwards for hours or even days. Practicing outdoors under the trees is an indispensable part of the experience because we can draw on the energy beneath our feet and feel closer to our other-than-human kin, both plant and animal. The whole experience acts as a physical and creative tonic.’ Rakhee’s student
This Qigong fire practice is part of a collaboration between Rakhee Jasani and Anna Hart for The Valley Room testing the body as a tool in a place-specific art practice.
