Pulling Threads

- The Call of Beauty and Art of Transfiguration

‘And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory…’ - 2 Corinthians 3:18

An event that Thomas Aquinas deemed the ‘greatest miracle’, the Biblical narrative of the Jesus’ transfiguration is often left unexplored. This quiet day explores a literal and metaphorical ascent up a mountain, a journey of spiritual formation through aesthetic experience - and transformation thereafter. Using exercises found in creative practice and rooted in Christian theology of the desert fathers – this is a time to reflect upon journeys of change and transition, unlearning and ultimately expanding perception towards a truer light.

Jennifer is a multidisciplinary artist and educator integrating textiles, fashion and poetry. Formerly running the Artist in Residence programme at the V&A Museum she is now competing her PhD in thelogy and the arts at Glasgow University. (During your quiet day you will have access to our chapel and our beautiful outdoor meditation gardens. Attendees are welcome to join our midday prayers with our prayer community).

We look forward to welcoming you to our urban oasis. The day will include welcome coffee and pastries, lunch and an afternoon pot of tea and cake. Or maybe book to stay overnight in one of our lovely en-suite bedrooms and make the most of taking some time aside.

Any non-chargeable cancellations should be made at least 7 days prior to the day of arrival. A 100% cancellation fee will be made for any late cancellations or non-arrivals.

Kindly note that any refunds will exclude Eventbrite and or administration fees.
