DESCRIPTION
Skilled communication and inter-cultural competence are vital to our workplace, interpersonal relations and national discourse. The Principles For How We Treat Each Other provides people with effective tools for engaging in difficult conversations, empathetic listening, perspective taking and relationship building. This workshop invites participants to place storytelling at the center of their work to develop authentic and meaningful relationships.
FACILITATOR BIOGRAPHY
Aida Diaz is a lifelong educator and has been teaching for over 30 years as a college professor. She has a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration on Educational Therapy and Supervision from National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois. She was trained at the Intercultural Communications Institute and has studied with renowned diversity and inclusion educators such as Dr. Peggy McIntosh and Lee Mun Wah. She teaches Peacebuilding, Spanish, Latin American Humanities, Survey of Exceptional Children, and Introduction to Teaching.
Aida is a founder of PJI, serves on the Advisory Council, and is a PJI Lead Facilitator. She is passionate about the work of the Institute, building an inclusive and respectful community that welcomes all people. Aida is a proud new grandmother.
