Outdoorsman Andrew Keith will disucss three canoe trips at unique points in his life: down the Mississippi River to New Orleans; through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to Hudson Bay; and through the Great Lakes to the St. Lawrence Seaway. From the solitude of the deep wilderness to chance encounters with strangers who offer shelter or a meal, from windblown days exploring unspoiled islands to frightening spills in whitewater rapids, from the sight of wolves and polar bears to the scent of salt marshes and pine forests, Keith describes a geographical and spiritual journey.
