From July 13th to 17th in Waterloo, Ontario, 26 pre-college and college-aged students who are serious about pursuing a career in the performing arts will be immersed in all things musical theatre at the Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy.
Led by the Youth Academy’s Education and Outreach Manager, Chad McNamara, students will work with highly skilled, working industry professionals to learn four song and dance production numbers. Workshops include acting through song, monologue performance, audition technique, agent relations, improv, theatrical intimacy, and much more.
Participants will also participate in Virtual Broadway Mentor Q&A with Paul Alexander Nolan who is set to open his eleventh Broadway production, starring as Max in The Lost Boys.
Confirmed in-person workshop leaders include AJ Bridel, Julie Tomaino, Kae Kae, George Absi, and Philip Pace…with more to come!
During the week, participants will attend a performance of 42nd Street at the Hamilton Family Theatre in Cambridge followed by a talk-back and photo op.
Affordable dormitory-style residence accommodations are available at The University of Waterloo, 20 minutes away from the Academy on public transit.
