Positive Discipline for Early Childhood Educators (PD-ECE), developed by Jane Nelsen, Cheryl Erwin, and Steven Foster, is designed to create a respectful school climate through social emotional learning, character education and effective discipline. It provides simple and clear lesson plans that you can integrate into your daily curriculum. The program provides the tools to develop effective class meetings and create a climate of mutual respect through teaching communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills. PD-ECE provides students with experiences that enhance academic learning and the development of life skills that will help them be successful throughout their lives. In this 2-day interactive workshop, you will learn evidence-based effective discipline approach deeply rooted in Adlerian Psychology that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviours.
๐ฟ Create a classroom or care setting where children can develop a sense of belonging and significance based on the importance of contribution and mutual respect.
๐ฟ How to respectfully hold boundaries with kindness and firmness, finding that place between too soft and too firm.
๐ฟ Understand and decode childrenโs behavior using the 4 mistaken goals/strategies and how to guide it in groups of young children with encouragement and proactive steps you can take.
๐ฟ Foster essential social and emotional skills to support development and school readiness.
๐ฟ Understand how young children learn and how to adapt teaching to the needs of this age group.
๐ฟ Teach the essential skills for developmentally appropriate participation in class meetings.
๐ฟ Learn Positive Discipline and Adlerian concepts for use in the classroom, preschool community, and with parents.
