The Point of Jazz is a jazz collective led by graduates of the music department at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. This week the house band consists of Adam Gaines (tpt) Kadin Yach (p) Jessie Crandall (b) and Wayne Salzmann (d). Every Thursday the group plays at Stone Arch Brewpub in Appleton Wisconsin from 7:30-9:30PM. They play a one hour set featuring that week’s guest artist, then open the floor for community members to join in on their respective instruments. This week‘s featured artist is Wayne Salzmann II
Wayne Salzmann II is a Drummer, Educator, Author, and Composer who has toured and recorded extensively with Grammy winning guitarist Eric Johnson. He has also performed/recorded with Steve Miller, Kenny Rogers, Chris Potter, and many more. He has hundreds of recording credits, including a Billboard no. 1 Jazz record, a Billboard no. 1 Blues record, and feature film soundtracks.
