About this Event

Join us for a welcoming afternoon workshop where you will create your own unique jewellery to wear home.

Participants will be taken through the jewellery design process to create their own individual pieces. Learn techniques for decorating the ply components with coloured pencil, paint and ink, creating mini drawings or patterns. Using wire forming techniques, you will be guided through creating your own silver hooks or pendant loops and learning how to join all the components together with jump rings or rivets.

Who Should Attend?

Suitable for ages 16+; No prior jewellery or design experience required; This workshop is suitable for beginners or experienced makers keen to explore a different style of making.

What's Included? All materials, tools and equipment are provided. Participants will take home one or two pieces of unique jewellery made during the workshop.

What Should I Bring & Wear? Anything you're comfortable in, ideally wear an apron or clothes that are ok to make art (and get a bit messy) in.

Artist Bio:

Chloë Waddell is a maker of jewellery, objects and art, working out of Vacant Assembly, a vibrant shared studio workshop and exhibition venue on Jagera and Turrbal land in West End/Kurilpa. Primarily process driven, it is the materials she is drawn to work with which usually determine the final form. It is in a busy studio surrounded by materials and students or colleagues working on an exciting project that Chloë feels happiest and most at home. It is the pure love of making which drives both her studio practice and her teaching. She is hopeful that just a little bit of that love will transfer into the objects she creates and to the students she teaches.
