October topic: Chef Patty Cooking Demo (red pepper hummus)
Patty Houghtelling has spent 28 years turning simple ingredients into something worth gathering around the table for. A plant-based chef and Union University graduate, she's been teaching hands-on cooking classes in the Napa Valley since 2017, sharing the joy of cooking. She's the author of two cookbooks in her In the Kitchen with Patty series, published since 2020, and her recipes reflect a simple belief: good food should be kind — to your body, your taste buds, and the planet. That kindness extends to all creatures great and small, which anyone who's seen her email address ([email protected]) will immediately understand.
All ages are welcome! The Community Meeting room is located on the 2nd floor of the library. Please bring your own plates & utensils.
*No animal-based foods (meat, dairy, eggs, or fish) please. Not sure what to bring? Feel free to reach out or bring some fruit to share.
Building Healthy Communities is sponsored by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit of 17k+ physicians promoting evidence-based nutrition.
