Picture Book Week: For Illustrators and Writers | VASS Workshop w/ Carolyn Fisher

Join award-winning author and illustrator Carolyn Fisher for an engaging hands-on workshop at the Vernon Arts Summer School exploring the art and craft of children’s picture books. Open to writers, illustrators, and writer-illustrators of all levels, this course guides you through both the creative process and the professional side of publishing.
Participants can bring an existing idea or start something new and work at a scale that suits their experience, from a simple story pitch or single illustration to a full storyboard or complete picture book draft. Along the way, you will explore storytelling, visual development, and how to present your work to publishers and agents.
By the end of the week, you will leave with a developed picture book project and a clearer understanding of how children’s books are created and brought to market.
