Wired for Flight: Creating a Willow Goose | VASS Workshop w/ Annabel Stanley

Join instructor Annabel Stanley for a creative weekend workshop at the Vernon Arts Summer School, where you’ll build a life-size willow goose from start to finish. This hands-on class explores structure, gesture, and form through wire armature construction and natural willow weaving.
Participants will begin with simple sketches to establish proportion and posture before building a strong internal framework, then layering willow to shape movement, volume, and personality. Each sculpture develops its own character, with options for open or closed wings and room for individual expression throughout the process. The studio environment will be creative, supportive, and encouraging, with plenty of room for experimentation and individual expression.
