About this Event

About this event

What does it mean to live “the examined life”? For much of history, philosophy was not a technical academic discipline, but instead a form of knowledge meant to make possible a life well-lived. What is “the good life” and how does one discern it? Can we truly know “the good life” if we’re not also practicing living that life? And how does Christian faith and theology relate to philosophy as a way of life?

Join us for this four-day exploration of “living the questions” together. Class time will be supplemented by guest speakers, field trips around the UMN campus, and activities to help bring the ideas we are considering to life. Lunch and snacks provided.

About Ellie Peters

Ellie Peters is Dean of Girls at St. Augustine School in Mendota Heights, MN. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Davidson College. Before coming to St. Augustine School, Ellie was on staff at Anselm House and also taught humanities at another Christian Classical school. She is passionate about exploring the big human questions alongside students and seeing their minds and hearts wake up to God’s world and their place within it in the process.
