Valdeli Pereira will be leading an interactive session that will focus on the ideas presented in three influential books by historian and philosopher Yuval Noah Harari:
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow
Nexus
Rather than a traditional lecture, this event will be a philosophical discussion. Valdeli will begin with a short introduction to each book, highlighting its key themes. This will be followed by a discussion before moving on to the next book.
This event aims to create a space for questions, reflections, and dialogue.
What to expect:
A short introduction to Harari’s main ideas
An open and respectful discussion format
A chance to explore big questions about humanity, technology, and the future
No prior reading is required, although participants familiar with the books are welcome to share their perspectives.

This gathering is intended as a first experiment in creating a space for thoughtful conversation. If there is interest, similar discussions may be organised in the future.

About the Speaker:
Valdeli Pereira is a Maltese citizen born in Brazil. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the Faculdade de Filosofia Maria Imaculada Conceicao and a degree in Web Development from Middlesex University. He commenced his career in IT in 2009 as a Customer Support, then moving to Product Specialist. Since 2019 he has been working as Technical Writer and Trainer. Valdeli is the co-editor of SHARE magazine and a member of the Philosophy Sharing Foundation.
