One half of local folk duo The Brothers Reed and winner of the 2025 Tucson Folk Festival Songwriter Contest.Raised in a musical family on the outskirts of Saint Louis, Missouri, Philip Reed began singing and playing guitar at ten years old and began writing songs as soon as he could put three chords together. Influenced by the deep and poetic lyrical styles of artists like John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, and Elliot Smith, Philip is a true craftsman of song with meaning and heart. With an emphasis on story telling and audience engagement, Phil’s live performances are always seamless and highly entertaining.
