Known for their warm, unified sound and commanding stage presence, the quartet was formed in 2016 by four longtime friends at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany.Since their rise to international acclaim—winning First Prize and four special prizes at the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition—Esmé has taken the classical music world by storm, captivating audiences from Europe to Korea and now the U.S., where they serve as Ensemble-in-Residence at San Francisco Performances.
