Peter Spencer, an Australian author and historian, has a passion for our early Australian history. His first book, ‘Too Young to Hold a Gun’, is about his great-grandfather, who at the age of 13 was the last accomplice of the bushranger Captain Thunderbolt. His latest book, ‘I am Captain Thunderbolt’, is the story told by the outlaw himself, from prison break to his last shootout with police.
Both books are historical fiction. In these beautifully constructed novels, Peter has woven the stories around the actual events of Australia’s longest-reigning bushranger.
