People's Hearing: NO NEW DUKE RATE INCREASES
Advertisement
In recent years, Duke Energy has convinced the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to increase gas and electric rates, and to charge all ratepayers new riders regardless of where they get their energy. Duke Energy profited $4.9 Billion just last year, but now they are asking for even more from ratepayers.
According to the Ohio Consumers' Council, under Duke's new proposals for electric and gas rate increases, a typical consumer’s bill could increase by about $32 per month. In addition, Duke is proposing to more than double the fee to get reconnected from $70 to $164. Consumers would also continue paying additional PUCO-approved infrastructure investment charges already appearing on bills.
Come talk with CUFA and local leaders how you would be impacted by Duke's proposed increases, and engage in our work to tell the PUCO NO NEW RATE INCREASES!
*Light refreshments will be provided.
