PAST LIVES (25 mins)
Presented by Lê Kim Thanh, Janette McBride, Matías Avaca [International ensemble: (Hanoi, Vietnam), (Brisbane, Australia), (Auckland, New Zealand)] as part of the Brisbane Improv Festival 2026.
In Asian cultures, there's a strong belief in the invisible thread of destiny connecting souls at a beautiful intersection of fate. But what happens if those who shared a profound connection in a past life are reborn into bodies that cannot communicate?
The show follows three souls across two timelines: a past life where they are deeply connected and share a common language, and a current life where they meet as strangers separated by language barriers.
This moving format have explored whether our deepest human bonds require words to survive on global stages in Singapore, Norway, China, and Vietnam. What about this time?
BLIND DATE WITH AN IMPROVISER (25 mins)
Presented by Jess Allen(Gadigal Country/Sydney) as part of the Brisbane Improv Festival 2026.
Could you pick your perfect improv scene partner sight unseen? In Blind Date With An Improviser, some of the best and brightest comedians will pick who to perform with based only on a few words describing our mystery performers’ play styles.
Will they choose someone they always perform with? Will they have a fling with a new improv beau? Will it end in unscripted heartbreak? Come along and see the chaos unfold.
