Fresh from intensive studies at New York City's Tribeca Jazz Institute under the mentorship of Eric Alexander, Vincent Herring, Grant Stewart, and Chris Byars, the quartet aims to bring you an exciting evening of jazz straight from New York.
Ashley Hutton is a Sunshine Coast-born saxophonist, composer, and contemporary session musician. An in-demand collaborator, he has performed and recorded with Grammy and ARIA Award winning artists and producers, contributing to projects that have reached audiences in the millions. In 2026, Ashley was awarded the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowship, supporting a 3 month trip to New York City to undertake intensive study at the Tribeca Jazz Institute. This follows earlier international study in Toronto and New York, supported by the 2024 Simon Hatton Saxophone Bursary from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. As a bandleader and improviser, he directs the Primetime Sextet, the Ashley Hutton Quartet, and his Trio.
