Join us for the start of Paper Moon Jazz Bands every first Friday of the month residency here at Myrtle. 8pm No Cover. Dancing encouraged!Paper Moon Jazz Band is a collective dedicated to the timeless music of Django Reinhardt and the jazz standards of the Swing Era. With a rhythmic pulse that captures the spirit of the 1920s and beyond, they bring the classic sounds of Parisian cafés, New Orleans brass bands, and big band legends like Duke Ellington and Count Basie to life.
Based in Rhode Island, Paper Moon is known as the region’s premiere Hot Jazz band, featuring top jazz musicians from Providence and Boston. Their lively performances of gypsy jazz and blues have earned them critical acclaim, including the Judges Pick Award and multiple nominations for Motif Magazine’s “Best Jazz Ensemble.” They have also been featured on The Public’s Radio, in Hey Rhody, and had their music featured in NBC’s coverage of the Paris Olympics.
