Painting in Oils with Vicki Van Vynckt

If you have ever wanted to learn how to paint with oils, this is your opportunity! Join our six-week class, where all skill levels are welcome. You will be able to work at your own pace and receive individual instruction for your paintings. While previous drawing experience can be helpful, Vicki will teach you to use the grid system and other methods to enlarge images onto your canvas.
If you're new to oil painting, this class will help you become familiar with color mixing, applying paint, and other useful techniques. Please bring some reference photos to choose from, and feel free to explore abstract forms as well.
Students will pay a $15 supply fee directly to the instructor or they have the option of bringing all their own supplies. Class materials include a small, stretched canvas. You are welcome to bring larger. The smaller canvas provided in the supply fee for later projects. Remember to bring your own paper towels or rags and wear old clothes or an apron. Easels will be available for your use in the studio. If bringing brush cleaner, use an odorless brand, such as Gamsol, Turpenoid Natural or Mona Lisa.
Students can enter the gallery through the front door and go down the stairs. If stairs are a concern, you may park behind the restaurant and enter from the lower back level. If the lower-level door is locked, please knock loudly or call 828-859-0141 so someone can come and let you in.
