About this Event
Need some new room decor? Love music, art, or upcycling materials into something unique? Join our Paint Your Own Vinyl Record Workshop, a beginner-friendly session where all skill levels are welcome. We’ll provide everything you need (including a record!) and guide you through tips and techniques to help your design last without chipping or fading. Come get creative, express yourself, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece made by you!
Workshops are recommended for people ages 12 and over. Children under 12 years old are welcome with parent/guardian supervision. Please get a ticket for each person (incl. all children).
The workshop is admission by donation! Suggested $20 - $30 to support facilitator fees and supplies.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Tanya is the Marketing Coordinator at Alcove Centre for the Arts and a self-taught artist reconnecting with creativity and play. As a Filipino immigrant and recent graduate, she’s rediscovering artistic passions she once set aside, working across mediums like crochet, graphic design, painting, and stained glass. Her newest obsession is linocut, thanks to an Alcove workshop. Grounded in her own experiences with PMDD, depression, and anxiety, she believes deeply in art’s ability to support mental health and create community. She hopes to encourage others to explore creativity as a tool for well-being.

Alcove Centre for the Arts (alcoveartscentre.ca) is a non-profit organization based in Calgary, AB which aims to make art more accessible and promote a vibrant local arts industry. We curate and cultivate community art spaces for Calgarians to engage in art and creativity while building a platform for emerging local artists.
Alcove is a Recreational Art Space open to the public providing free art supplies and instruments to stimulate creativity. The space also acts as a gathering place for workshops, community events, and social meetups. Come visit and get creative!
