Paint Constable's Landscape, Hampstead Heath, London NW3

Inspired by direct observation of nature, and painting views across Hampstead Heath and. London.

Following in the artist’s footsteps, this is your chance to draw and paint where Constable painted his greatest landscapes.

Depicting the feelings and enjoyment of being outside, working en plein air. Painting fleeting weather conditions, alla prima; “Skying”, light, tonal values, using white paint (“Constable’s Snow”); Small & full-sized preparatory studies, gridded-up sketches; Format - landscape or portrait; Colour palette, transparent layers of wash; Form, line, blocking-in shape; Mark-making, textures; Edges; Details; ‘Finish’…Thinking about Constable’s experimental exploration and research to develop your own thoughts, ideas and best pictorial composition.

This is a 2 hour event with 1:2:1 tuition from professional artist’s mentor and fine art tutor Estelle Lovatt FRSA.

Estelle brings a portfolio of Constable’s images of landscapes to show you, discuss and illustrate the artist’s drawing and painting techniques and tips.

To get the most from this special experience attend a minimum of 3-4 sessions.

Document the changing seasons from Spring through Summer, Autumn and Winter. Capture the changing weather conditions; rays of sunshine, the best clouds, shadows and double rainbows.
