Every family in our community has wins, and we're inviting you to bring yours to our next Parent Support Group.
No matter how big or small you think it is, we think it's worth celebrating. Your story may be exactly the encouragement another parent or caregiver has been looking for.
You can bring a situation you're still working out too. This'll be a safe space to listen and share from our own experiences.
Your hosts/speakers:
Jessica Ramirez is a Cultural Disability Information Advisor at Disability Connect and facilitates our monthly Parent Support Group sessions. She is also the parent of a neurodivergent son.
Cherie Cawdron is the Operations Manager and Executive Assistant at Disability Connect. She has an adult son with a rare disorder, chronic health conditions, autism and an intellectual disability. She is also the Chair of Complex Care Group and a family representative on the Whaikaha Strategy Advisory Group.
Natalija Isailovic is a counsellor with a background in special education. She ran our March Parent Support Group session on carer wellbeing, "Overwhelmed to Empowered".

Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Location: Mt Richmond Specialist School, 30 Albion Road, Ōtāhuhu, Auckland, or online via Zoom
Fee: Free for disabled people and their whānau, $50 for disability sector professionals
Registration is essential. Tell us whether you're coming in person or joining online. We'll send the Zoom link to online attendees.
