open•mic / an open mic social night in Brighton
About this Event
open•mic does what it says on the tin.
It's a free open mic social at The Greenhouse, Brighton.
For anyone who wants to listen, speak, play, or connect with good people.
Read poetry. Try an opinion piece. A TedX test. Bring a song.
Share someone else's words if you'd rather not share your own.
You can even nominate someone to read your words.
No judgement. No competition.
Just a supportive room and a mic.
And for those wanting a video record of your slot, the Swhype cameras will be on hand.
Alternatively... you don't have to perform, just come and listen.
It's hosted by me, Andy Greenhouse, a creative director and self-confessed 'glossophobe' (fear of public speaking}.
This is the first one, and I'll be reading too.
So if you're nervous, you'll be in good company.
It's also for anyone who doesn't love networking, but loves people.
Everyone is a speaker inside.
open•mic is there to help you coax it out.
Bring friends... or come alone.
Either way, you'll be welcomed with open•arms.
If you'd like to speak / perform: Book a 'Open Mic Speaker' or 'Musician' ticket.
Timings are pretty open as this is the first one. There's no limit to style or genre.
