Opening Night of "Answers to Correspondents" by Rebecca Wood
About this Event
Answers to Correspondents is a new exhibition exploring memory, identity, care, and the stories we inherit. Bringing together photography, family archives, textiles, ecological imagery, and alternative photographic processes, the exhibition considers how histories can be revisited, reimagined, and transformed.
Central to the work are images of gynandromorphic butterflies and moths — rare individuals that develop with both male and female characteristics — offering a point of departure for thinking about identity, difference, and the ways we classify the living world.
Through layered and experimental image-making, Answers to Correspondents invites viewers to consider the connections between personal and political histories, human and more-than-human worlds, and how acts of care can open up new ways of understanding the past and imagining the future.
