About this Event
Open Art Studio Drop-In Sessions
Join us in a dedicated space designed for those who need the time, space, and materials to move their creative projects forward. In a busy schedule, it can be difficult to carve out a few hours to focus on making. This time provides a low-pressure, self-guided environment where you can work on an existing project or experiment with something entirely new.
There are no formal lessons or critiques here. Instead, this is a space for creating in community. Whether you’re a lifelong artist or haven't picked up a tool in years, the focus is entirely on the process of creating at your own pace.
What this session offers:
Full Autonomy: You have complete control over your time. Use the 90 minutes to dive deep into a single task or meander through different ideas as they come to you.
Shared Resource Library: Gain access to our studio supplies, including a variety of drawing tools, collage materials, and tactile scraps. It’s a great way to experiment with new mediums without the overhead of buying your own supplies.
Low-Stakes Environment: This is a "process-over-product" space. There is no pressure to produce "good" art; the value is in the time spent doing the work.
Community Connection: Enjoy the social benefit of making art in a room with other people. It’s a flexible way to build community and share a creative atmosphere without the structure of a formal class.
All are welcome!
No previous artistic background is necessary. Just bring your project, your curiosity, or simply yourself.

About the Instructor:
Kim (she/her) is an Art Therapy Intern currently studying at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. Operating from a deeply humanistic perspective, she believes that everyone holds the answers they need within themselves, and art serves as the metaphoric tapestry where those answers take form. Kim acts as a "threadkeeper" during her workshops, safely tracking the diverse strands of thought and emotion that participants bring forward. Requiring no artistic skill, her workshops are designed to help you unearth the wisdom that exists below the level of awareness and weave those insights into a clearer self-understanding.
