Class Description
Unlock your creative potential in Geraldine O’Brien’s Oil Painting Classes. Designed for beginners to intermediate painters, this immersive class offers a comprehensive introduction to the versatile world of oil painting. It provides hands-on experience and expert guidance to help you master the fundamentals and explore advanced techniques.
Who Should Attend
This class is ideal for beginners new to oil painting and intermediate painters looking to refine their skills and explore new techniques.
Goals for this Class
Students will be focusing on Color! Students will complete a beautiful and colorful fall landscape painted in an impressionistic style, employing loose brush strokes, vivid colors, and soft edges. Students will also spend time with a lesson on Color Theory, which includes mixing colors, creating a color wheel, and discussing color tone.

Costs
Full Class: $300 The full class consists of 3 sessions to be held from noon to 3 pm on the Saturdays indicated above. The cost for the full class is $300 per student plus the costs of art supplies. See below for information on the required art supplies. Museum Members get 5% discount.
Individual Sessions: $100 each. Participants can also take individual sessions at $100 each session plus the costs of art supplies. See below for information on art supplies. Museum Members get 5% discount.
Supplies: Students provide their own art supplies purchased at Jerry’s Artarama Art Supplies and Materials | Jerry's Artarama under Danville Museum Oil Painting Class, Virginia, Teacher: Geraldine O’ Brien. Students will also need paper towels, a jar with lid, a sketchbook or drawing paper, a pencil, a ruler or yardstick, and a palette knife.
About the Artist: Ms. O’Brien has been a professional artist for over 50 years, painting and selling her original artwork and commissioned art in California, and across the country, as well as teaching oil painting to beginner and intermediate students.
